I’m not dead. Really.

I’m in hiding. Just me and the trusty laptop. And a supply of soda and snacks. (Hmm, that was a little experiment there – the use of the word “soda” instead of “pop.” Didn’t feel right. What can I say? I’m an Iowan through and through.)
Anyway, I’m writing…furiously, feverishly, hopefully fantastically. I’m bound and determined to put the finishing touches on this book once and for all. While I’m at it, I might even FINALLY settle on a title.*
Of course, my hiding is only in play during the evening as my boss may not appreciate it if I went into full-term writing hibernation. But here’s hoping that by July 31, I can call this thing done!**
So shall it be written, so shall it be done.***

*I am so, totally open to title suggestions! Even if you haven’t read a word of the thing. Never know when an off-hand suggestion might lead to a brilliant idea! I’ve been calling it Tuesdays with Cully, but I figure publishers aren’t going to be too excited to play off ol’ Morrie. Got an idea? I wanna hear it! If it helps, here’s the premise:

Georgia White is out to give the world the last manuscript of the late J. Cullaway. Case Matthews would do anything to protect his alcoholic brother and save the family farm. Georgia has the power to give Case everything he wants; Case has secrets that could destroy Georgia’s career. How much will Georgia sacrifice to write Cully’s book? And how far will Case go to defend what he loves?
**Okay, okay. Let’s have a realistic moment. July 31 is less than a week away. I have seven chapters to edit in that time. If I must extend my deadline to August 7, I will. Because, hey, I am a Christian, and Christians should be all about grace, right?
***Props to Yul Brynner.
