Royally Yours is here…and so is a giveaway!

It’s book release day!! (So of course, there’s a giveaway…more info below!)

Royally Yours—a collection including stories by me, Betsy St. Amant, Liz Johnson and Ashley Clark—is available in paperback and ebook (and in Kindle Unlimited too!) and oh my goodness, this snuck up on me so quickly.

Like, whoa! It feels like it was just summer and I was joyfully typing away, imagining snow-capped mountains and cobblestone streets, getting all caught up in the wintry, Christmasy feel of Jonah and Rowan’s story and racing toward The End…

…and then squealing out loud and floating on air when I reached those two beautiful words.

You know, usually I try to have something poignant to say on the release day for each book. But today, all I can really think about is how much giddy-like joy went into the writing of One Royal Christmas (which is the title of my installment in this Christmas collection*). Truly, I just had a blast writing it. I giggled and swooned and absolutely delighted in the process.

And God surprised me time and again as I got to know my hero—who is both a king and a bookworm, be still my heart—and my heroine, a librarian who I relate to so deeply. Writing about Jonah temporarily abdicating his throne and Rowan trying to save her little cottage library felt like a fun little adventure to me, complete with those unexpected moments of personal poignancy.

One of my dear author friends, Rachel Hauck (She’s a New York Times Bestselling Author! Read her books, guys! They will blow you away!) was one of the earliest readers of this story. She told me that one particular spot in the story made her weep.

And when I read that text from her, I wanted to weep. I thought, “This!! This is why I write!” Because even a Christmas novella—something a little shorter, a little sweeter—has the power to touch hearts. To reveal spiritual truths. To point to a Father’s love that’s truly the greatest gift we’ll ever receive…at Christmas and anytime. That’s what writing One Royal Christmas did for me.

And I’m praying, as it goes out into the world today, it does the same for you.

I hope, like Jonah, you’re reminded that you’re not alone…that the wonderfulness that is Emmanuel, God with Us, sinks into your bones and fills you with the truth of your worth and value.

I hope, like Rowan, you’re reminded that your hopes and dreams matter…and that you’re never too stuck for God to surprise and use you. After all, a new adventure might be right around the next corner…

By the way, I’ve got a pretty snazzy release day giveaway going on over at my website! Prizes include a paperback copy of the collection, a $15 Target (aka my home away from home) gift card, a Christmas decoration and ornament! The giveaway is open for one week, so enter away using the form below!

*Ummm, if you’ve paid any attention to the titles of my past Christmas books, you may thinking to yourself that this title is super similar to those older ones. You may be thinking I don’t have all that much creativity left when it comes to titles. You may be…entirely correct. 😂

p.s. If you do read Royally Yours, I would be so, so grateful if you’d hop on over to Amazon and Goodreads to leave a review. It’s one of the most helpful things you can do for authors…even just a sentence or two. Thank you!!

    22. So many things make me happy–Jesus, my husband, all of the rest of my close family, my kitty cats, birds at the feeder, deer in the backyard, friends at church, Christian authors, even the squirrel on my porch railing gobbling down the sunflower seeds put out there for the birds.

    27. Ok, so this is a weird and convoluted (and maybe not the most flattering to you… please accept my DEEPEST apologies if it comes across that way) thing that is making me happy today. Today is the release date for two books. Yours, and Legacy, by Shannon Messenger. My almost-13-yo is obsessed with SM’s books, and I told myself that I’d read Legacy first so I can talk about it with her. So I’m happy that I’m raising a new generation of readers, but I’m not happy that I have to wait for yours??

    28. It was a beautiful day weatherwise and I got to see the new ‘Harriet’ movie with my family. We rarely see movies, so this was a special treat – and it was really good!

    29. Fall makes me happy and looking forward to Christmas really makes me happy. But right now we are busy preparing for our Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party at church. We are hoping to pack around 40 boxes. Our church is small, but they are always ready to support this event. Just think of all those kids faces when they get their shoebox full of surprises. Packing them is so much fun.

    30. I went to see Bruce Springsteen’s movie “Western Stars” today and that was almost as good as getting to one of his concerts! The movie shorts between songs are deep and introspective and a side of Bruce I never imagined.

    31. My family makes me happy (most of the time). Dark chocolate and books also fit into that category. I must say that the cover is gorgeous! Congrats on the nee release.

    32. What makes me happy everyday is that God has allowed me to wake up, spend time with my family and friends and share his teachings another day.

    33. It’s been a rough week for us here, so I’m trying to find happiness in helping others. And maybe in Hallmark movies.

    34. I feel that is one of the most significant info for me. And
i’m happy reading your article. However want to observation on some normal
things, The web site style is ideal, the articles is really nice
      :D. Good activity, cheers.

      1. I forgot to tell what makes me happy. It goes without saying that Jesus makes me happy, but finding a Snickers candy bar in the bottom of my purse last week was delightful!

    35. What’s making me happy today is the possibility that I will be able to go surprise my Mom with a visit on Thanksgiving Day! Haven’t spent a Thanksgiving with her in many years.

I would also be happy if I were to win a copy of this book 😉 Thanks for offering the giveaway.
